A routine traffic stop in Freetown on Tuesday led to the arrest of two Jackson County residents on various drug charges.

Jimmie D. Bryant, 61, of Freetown and Shannon S. Weber, 41, of Seymour were arrested after Jackson County Officer Dustin Steward stopped their vehicle for an infraction, police said.

Officers obtained a search warrant through Judge Bruce MacTavish of Jackson Superior Court II for the vehicle.

During the search, police located methamphetamine and several other controlled drugs as well as paraphernalia.

Bryant was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. Weber was charged with possession of a controlled substance, violation of the Legend Drug Act and possession of paraphernalia.

Both Weber and Bryant are being held at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.

Assisting with the investigation were Deputy Ben Rudolph and Deputy Jeff Walters with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
