Black lab was found shot with arrow

Missing a black lab? The Indiana State Police may want to hear from you.

Trooper David Owsley is looking for help in identifying the owner of a black lab that was found shot with an arrow Sunday morning in Jackson County.

The black lab was found with an arrow in his right front shoulder and was taken to Seymour Animal Hospital for treatment, police said.

Owsley is attempting to reunite the dog with its owner, Sgt. Donald Gregory said Sunday night.

Witnesses say the lab was seen with another black lab in the 11000 block of County Road 400 East, just west of the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.

“The lab appears to be a young female that is friendly around people and had a blue collar on at the time of the incident,” Gregory said.

Anyone with information about the dog is asked to call Owsley at the Seymour Post — 522-1441. The toll-free number for long distance inside Indiana is (800) 658-8328.
