Angels still in need of donors
Comments 0Jackson County Sertoma Club’s Angel Tree still has angels that need adopting at the Seymour Wal-Mart Supercenter.
Sertoma has received requests from more than 300 families asking for help with toys this Christmas. Last year, Sertoma received a record 350 requests and expects even more this year, Scott Davis of Sertoma said.
The angels have a toy request for what a child would like for Christmas.
“Simply take an angel off the tree, purchase the gift and then leave it at the customer service desk at Wal-Mart or you may drop off unwrapped gifts at the Sertoma Christmas Miracle Headquarters,” Davis said.
Miracle Headquarters is at 1531 E. Tipton St. in Village Center, between Cash Advance and the Dollar Tree. Hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. The phone number for the headquarters is (812) 498-4581.
Applications for Christmas Miracle will be accepted until Christmas Eve, but Sertoma encourages those who want assistance to apply as soon as possible.
Applications are available in Seymour at the Jackson County Health Department, WIC office, Seymour Housing Authority, Jackson County Department of Child Services, Jackson County Division of Family Resources, the Jackson County chapter of American Red Cross and at Christmas Miracle Headquarters.
Applications in Brownstown are available at Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and in Medora at Bundy Brothers.
Sertoma is participating in Charity Tracker network to avoid any duplication of services.
Applications must be signed by the parent or legal guardian. They are accepted for children 12 years of age and younger.
All children must live in Jackson County and must be home for the delivery of the gifts throughout the day on Christmas Eve.
Applications for toys and any monetary donations may be sent to Sertoma at P.O. Box 841, Seymour, IN 47274.
Applications and donations may also be dropped off at their headquarters. All donations are used in Jackson County for the children of Jackson County.
