2 hurt in wreck

A 30-year-old Brownstown man and his passenger were injured after they were involved in a wreck that occurred during a period of heavy rain Tuesday north of Vallonia, police say.

According to a press release from Jackson County Officer Adam Nicholson, Nathan White of Brownstown was driving his 2001 Dodge pickup north on Indiana 135 about a quarter of a mile north of Vallonia when the vehicle hydroplaned, causing White to lose control.

The vehicle wound up inverted on the west side of Indiana 135.

White and a passenger, Amanda Jordan, 19, of North Judson were treated and taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour with injuries, although Nicholson said the injuries were not believed to be severe.
