NEWS YOU CAN USE: IRS office open this Saturday

The Internal Revenue Service has announced it will be open Saturday at locations across the country to help those who don't normally file a tax return prepare the Form 1040A returns to ensure they receive the economic stimulus payments.

Under the economic stimulus package, seniors may be eligible for a $300 tax rebate if their sole source of income stems from Social Security benefits. In addition, disabled veterans are eligible for a $300 rebate.

Indiana 9th District Rep. Baron Hill of Seymour said the nearest office for Jackson County residents is in Columbus, 2525 California St.
