Party leads to arrests
Comments 0 | Recommend 0VERNON - Jennings County police investigating a report of an underage drinking party in Bigger Township made 11 arrests of individuals 18 and older on various charges.
Those charges include contributing to the delinquency of a minor, illegal consumption and possession of marijuana.
According to a report from Maj. Jerry Shepherd, police also arrested several juveniles on the same charges. The juveniles were taken to the Jennings County Jail in Vernon and released to their parents.
Shepherd said officers were able to surround the area of the party so partygoers could not run, preventing possible injuries to anyone who might have decided to run.
Several juveniles also at the party had not consumed alcohol and they also were released to their parents, Shepherd said.
