Jackson County police officers will again offer a chance for area children to Shop with a Cop this Christmas.

The Donald M. Winn Lodge 108 Fraternal Order of Police will again sponsor the program, which pairs needy children with police officers for a shopping spree during the holiday season, Seymour Police Detective C.J. Foster said.

Foster is president of the FOP.

“Those who are wishing to be considered for this year’s program are asked to submit letters explaining their needs,” Foster added.

The program is for children 5 to 17 years old. Applications must include the names and ages of the children along with a valid address and telephone number.

Deadline for consideration is Nov. 20. Applicants who are accepted will be notified by mail, Foster said Monday.
Letters may be sent to Seymour Police Department, c/o Detective C.J. Foster, 205 N. Ewing St., Seymour, IN 47274.

Officers will be shopping with the selected children at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Seymour.
