BROWNSTOWN -Brownstown officers investigated 224 incidents and 11 accidents in May, according to town Marshal Steve Scarlett's monthly report.

Officers also investigated 24 animal complaints, issued 58 warnings and 50 citations, arrested 23 individuals and made 58 courtesy assists and 110 security checks.

Scarlett, who gave the report during a recent town council meeting at Town Hall, said Officer Tom Hanner also recovered a motorcycle from a 2007 Seymour Police Department case, and Officer Tom Wright conducted two methamphetamine awareness classes.

Fire Chief Andy Lockman and firefighter John Sweeney also gave that department's monthly report. That report showed 31 firefighters responding to five structure fires, 11 medical runs and 16 work details involving 218 manhours.
