Library board OKs circulation policy revision

The Jackson County Public Library Board of Trustees approved revisions to the library's circulation policy and took other actions when meeting Dec. 16.


Trustees also approved:


Paying claims received through the end of 2008.


Repaying temporary loans of $235,000 from the library operating fund into other library funds.


And encumbering $71,970.31 appropriated in the 2008 capital projects fund and library improvement reserve fund for replacing part of the roof at the Seymour Library.


Before the regular meeting, the board met in executive session to discuss personnel issues. Executive sessions are closed to the public.


Members and staff elected to take board positions in January are President Dan Thomas, Vice President Sally Crouch, Secretary Janis Brett, Assistant Secretary Bob Mahan and Treasurer Mary Reed.


The board's next meeting, which includes the annual meeting of the board of finance, is at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Seymour Library.
