Beating the heat

Many area residents took advantage of the municipal swimming pool at Seymour's Shields Park in an effort to beat Wednesday's heat and humidity. The high today should be around 90, according to the National Weather Service. The area should bask under mostly sunny skies through Sunday, when there's a chance of scattered thunderstorms. A cool down is expected Monday, with a high around 85.
