Beating the heat
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Many area residents took advantage of the municipal swimming pool at Seymour's Shields Park in an effort to beat Wednesday's heat and humidity. At left, former Seymour resident Justin Sage of Bates City, Mo., plunges from one of the diving platforms at the pool. Above, Leah Coryea of Seymour splashes into the pool after racing down a slide at the pool. The high hit 89 degrees Wednesday in Seymour, National Weather Service observer Ruth Everhart said. The high today should be around 90, according to the National Weather Service. The area should bask under mostly sunny skies through Sunday, when there's a chance of scattered thunderstorms. A cool down is expected Monday, with a high around 85.
