United Way names team
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Jackson County United Way has named its 2009 fundraising drive leaders.
Kendra Zumhingst will serve as 2009 Jackson County United Way campaign chair. Marc and Missy Woods are serving as co-vice campaign chairs.
During the 2008 campaign, Zumhingst served as the vice chair to Jenny Ault and in 2007 she worked as a solicitor for the business blitz. She was the 2005 United Way campaign chairman for Schwarz Pharma.
She currently serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters advisory council for Jackson County and has been actively volunteering for BBBS since 2003.
She has been a lab systems and validation engineer in the IT department at Schwarz Pharma since 2000. She was born and raised in Seymour the daughter of Ken Hazelwood and Marty and Teresa Bryant. She attended elementary and middle school in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1997. In 2003, she graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in general studies from IUPUC. In 2005, she received a master’s in management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
She and her husband of nine years, Dave, have a son, Jadrix, 3, and a daughter, Krenzley, 1. She is a member of Seymour First Nazarene Church.
Marc and Missy Woods are serving as co-vice campaign chairs. They were solicitors for the Jackson County United Way in 2004. They were business division chairs for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 campaigns. They initiated the first business blitz, a one-day campaign event for solicitors to personally visit small business owners in Seymour to share the United Way story.
They have been serving the community real estate needs since 2000 and have been associated with Coldwell Banker SCR since 2002. Both are certified negotiation specialists, residential marketing specialists and certified in relocation.
They both graduated from Leadership Jackson County in 2005 and earned the 2005 Volunteer Award for Class Project from Turning Point. They volunteer for Salvation Army, are on the Economic Development Committee for Main Street, are in charge of the Jackson County Spelling Bee, members of the Schneck Hospital Society, members of the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce and are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Both are originally from Seymour. They are the parents of Matt, a student at Seymour High School, and Lawson, a student at Zion Lutheran School. Their hobbies include spending time with their kids and their dog, Bella, running, nature hikes and both are avid fans of IU basketball and football.

Inc., special services chair; Jason Correll, National City Bank, business chair; Monica Hartung, professional chair; John Reichenbacker, Brownstown Police Department, government chair; Holly Wischmeier, Schneck Medical Center, clubs and organizations chair; Cheryl Fenton, Seymour Middle School and Greg Prange, Seymour High School, co-education chairs; Jerri Burbrink and Cindy Brown, Jackson County Bank, Brownstown co-chairs, and Paula Helton, Crothersville chair.
