U.S. 50 project ready to start
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Starting Sunday, work will begin on resurfacing U.S. 50 from Hayden Pike to the bridge over Vernon Fork of the Muscatatuck River in Jennings County.
Dave O'Mara Contractor of North Vernon will be installing sidewalk ramps and curbing to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. This work will be done during daytime hours.
Workers will then begin laying asphalt on U.S. 50. This work will be between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights. This work will require lane restrictions and motorists will be controlled by flaggers.
The work is weather dependent.
The $850,000 project must be complete by Oct. 31.
It will tie into the west end of the intersection improvement project already under way at U.S. 50 and Deer Creek Road.
