Fatal wreck in Jennings County

TRIBUNE REPORTS

A 31-year-old Columbus man lost his life in a one-vehicle wreck on Commiskey Pike in Jennings County on Monday afternoon, police report.

According to a report from Indiana State Trooper David Owsley, Lance Green was found lying on the ground outside his truck by a Jennings County resident after the wreck near County Road 500W. That individual told police that Green was "barely breathing."

A nurse, traveling in the area, started cardio pulmonary resuscitation on Green before emergency personnel arrived, Owsley reported.

Owsley said he then arrived on the scene and assisted with CPR by attaching his automated external defibrillator to Green. Personnel with Dove Flight Medical Transport also attempted to revive Green as well, but he was pronounced dead after efforts to revive him failed, Owsley said.

Owsley said Green was not wearing a seatbelt and that speed was to have been a factor in the wreck, reported at 3:49 p.m. Monday.
