Get out and enjoy the county fair

It's just about here. Fair time, that is. And we've got one of best fairs there is, right here in Jackson County. OK. Enough of the attempt to sound like "State Fair."

But let's face it. Our Jackson County Fair is the best county fair. It has the blue ribbons to prove it. That's why we encourage everyone to find some time next week to venture out to the fairgrounds near Brownstown. Admission and parking are still free, and there's a lot of fun activities to take part in, a lot of exhibits to study and some great food to enjoy.

You're also supporting the many 4-H members by simply going, taking a look at their exhibits and offering a congratulations to any members you see or happen to know.

And don't forget the entertainment at the grandstand, in the pavilion and on the blue grass stage across from the Antique Building.

The fair starts Sunday evening and continues through July 26. Watch for daily coverage in The Tribune and online at TribTown.com, including video reports. Also watch for daily diary entries by 4-H'er Denise Maxie of Crothersville.

Get out to the fair and have a great time.
