Writer expresses frustration with chaining and neglect of dogs
To the Editor:
What’s going on in Crothersville? We have rescued four dogs.
Two were in plain view on chains with no food, no water. They had been shot with pellets. They were so skinny you could see their ribs and were full of fleas and one had heartworms.
Three were boxers, the other a little Jack Russell-terrier mix.
Isn’t there a law on animal abuse? Who can you call?
All of my contacts have been in vain.
By the way, all four have excellent homes now and have been treated for fleas, worms and heartworms.
But I notice this one person has another poor victim chained outside.
Why do people get dogs to chain and starve?
Please do the dogs a favor and don’t get them. They are better off put to sleep than on a chain, never off, no love, no nothing.
