Writer takes exception to Times report

I’m not sure that anyone else is as disturbed as I am regarding the recent article published in the New York Times concerning our neighbors in the town of Medora, but I would like to sound off in rebuttal to it.
If my memory serves me, it was just a short time ago when our neighbors in New York were reeling in anguish and fear due to the 9-11 attacks. I’m sure that the residents of New York were not concerned about our lifestyle when they were asking for donations, assistance and prayers. I also wonder if they have considered that some of the young men from Medora or their family members have gone off to serve our country in foreign lands to protect them from future attacks?
Funny, isn’t it? How, if we take a look at the current crisis in America, it all began in New York, due to the greed and arrogance of Wall Street and the mega rich. Rather than look at themselves, they choose to demoralize the rest of the country to make themselves feel better. Our tax dollars, including those collected from our neighbors in Medora, went to bail out those who really did not need assistance. Rather than condemn us, I believe those in New York should assist us with donations, assistance and prayers to help us through these tough times.
