INDIANAPOLIS —Auditions for the Indiana Pacers dance squad, the Indiana Pacemates, will be held Monday and Tuesday, with an audition showcase and squad announcement on July 22, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Auditions begin at 5 p.m. Monday and by the end of the evening will be narrowed down to the finalists that will come back for the second night of auditions, as well as for the showcase. This year’s audition process has been enhanced to allow more fan input on the outcome of the squad.

Starting on Tuesday, prior to the second night of auditions, fans will be able to go to Pacers.com and view a photo gallery, dance video and bio for each finalist. Fans will be able to vote on Pacers.com and via text message on which finalists they would like to see on next year’s Indiana Pacemates.

On July 22, there will be a showcase held in the Clarian Health Entry Pavilion of Conseco Fieldhouse to determine the final squad. Candidates will perform an opening routine, then breakout performances in mini-squads and answer a question on stage. Michael Grady from 1070 the Fan will emcee the event, and fans are encouraged to attend.

The 2009-10 Indiana Pacemates squad will be announced at the end of the evening.
