Crothersville volleyball team posts 4th win; Trinity, Medora lose

TRIBUNE REPORTS

Crothersville's varsity volleyball team picked up a road win, while Trinity Lutheran and Medora lost Thursday night.


Crothersville defeated  Scottsburg 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10;  Spings Valley defeated Trinity 25-14, 25-20, 25-18; and Medora fell to Paoli 25-13, 25-15, 21-25, 25-11.

Tigers win
SCOTTSBURG - Tigers coach Zabrina Nicholson said her team improved its serve receiving to improve its record to 4-1.


"Our serve receive picked up  remarkably compared to past games, and we covered really well," she said.
The Tigers had 52 attack kills with Amber Lucas having 14 and Courtney Killey 13. Coleigh King had 10 kills and led the Tigers in blocks with 20 and in serving aces with three.

Cougars fall
FRENCH LICK - The Cougars didn't have enough offense to match sectional rival Springs Valley and fell to 2-2.


The Cougars only had 12 attack kills with Sarah Onken high with six.

Hornets beaten
MEDORA - Coach Katrina Beesley said she changed the rotation in practice Wednesday and she said she likes the results.


"By the third game they had it down to a science," she said. "Overall I was pleased with the new rotation. They looked a lot better on the court, and we're going to run it the rest of the year."


The Hornets had 16 attack kills with Hannah Hinderlider and Jetta Baird  both having four.
The Hornets are 0-6 and will be home to Crothersville Thursday.
