Lady Owls fifth in HHC track meet

NEW ALBANY - Patricia Moravec tied for first in the pole vault, and Kortney Unger and Cassie Davidson both scored in three events to help the Seymour Lady Owls track team score 67.5 points to place fifth in the Hoosier Hills Conference meet Tuesday night.

New Albany won the meet with 123 points with Columbus East second with 115.

Moravec tied Libby Lienhoop of Columbus East at 5-feet in the high jump.

Moravec also placed fourth in the 800 and helped the 1,600 relay team place third, and the 3,200 relay team finish fourth.

Unger was second in the shot put at 31-2, and she finished third in the pole vault and fifth in the discus.

Davidson finished third in the long jump, sixth in the 100 and she ran on the 400 relay team that finished fifth.

The Lady Owls will prepare for the Seymour Sectional that will be next Tuesday.

The HHC boys meet will be Thursday at Jennings County.

100: 6-Davidson 13.43.
1,600 relay: 3-(Otte, P. Moravec, Benefiel, C. Moravec) 4:19.
3,200 relay: 4-(K. Moravec, Staley, P. Moravec, C. Moravec) 10:26.
400: 3-C. Moravec 1:01.18.
400 relay: 5-(Benefiel, Davidson, Brewer, Harmeson)  53.53.
800: 4-P. Moravec 2:31.5.
Discus: 5-Unger 90-4.
High jump: 1 tie P. Moravec 5-0.
Long jump: 3-Davidson 16.
Pole vault: 3-Unger 8-6.
Shot put: 2-Unger 31-2.
