Oldenburg Academy's boys cross country team defeated Trinity Lutheran and Madison Shawe Tuesday afternoon on the Cougars' course.

Oldenburg had 27 points, Trinity 38 and Shawe 62.

Oldenburg also won the girls race with 15 points as neither Trinity or Shawe had full teams.
Trinity freshman Taylor Royalty was first in the girls; race at 20:06.

Cougar coach Jay Cherry said, "Taylor and Lacey (Gengelbach) both improved their times on our course, and had their better times of the season. This was a good win for Taylor against a good runner from Oldenburg."
In the boys race, Trinity's Ryan Schneider battled Shawe's Campbell Higbie down to the wire as both runners were timed in 18:10, with Higbie finishing one step ahead of the Cougar runner.

"The boys ran a good race and everyone improved their times on our course, and had their best times of the season," Cherry said. "Ryan ran with Higbie throughout the race and almost got him at the finish line. We are pleased to have our three-through-eight runners within one minute of each other and all are improving."
