GREENFIELD — The Brownstown Central High School varsity cheerleading squad competed Saturday in the Indiana Association of School Principals cheer competition at Greenfield-Central High School.

The team competed against 20 2A schools and placed third, giving Brownstown a trip to Saturday’s state finals at New Castle.

Coach Melissa Forrest said the girls had to perform a cheer and a dance routine and were scored on multiple things such as tumbling skills, stunting skills, showmanship, jumps, difficulty of the skills, etc.

On Saturday, the Brownstown girls will begin warm-ups at 12:50 p.m., go on deck at 1:05 p.m. and perform at 1:15 p.m.

Brownstown is one of 12 2A teams at this weekend’s competition.
