C'ville girls, Trinity boys lose in Tuesday games

The Crothersville Lady Tigers picked up their second straight loss Tuesday night at home after winning their first three games of the season. On the road, the Trinity Lutheran Cougars boys team dropped to 1-2 after losing at Hauser.

Mohawks defeat Tigers

CROTHERSVILLE - The Tigers had a two-point halftime lead, but were outscored 43-24 in the second half in the 71-54 loss to Waldron.

Courtney Killey and Brooke Prather led the Tigers with 15 points and five rebounds each. Amber Lucas put up eight points, pulled down 10 rebounds, had four assists and blocked three shots.

Waldron had three players in double figures with Alison Soliday leading with 20.

The Lady Tigers (4-2) will host South Central on Saturday in a Southern Athletic Conference game. The Tigers are 1-0 in the SAC and Saturday will be the conference opener for the Rebels (1-2). Junior varsity action will begin at noon.

Jets fly by Cougars

HOPE - Trinity Lutheran kept the game close in the first half at Hauser High School on Tuesday night, but in the second half, the Jets took over and won 68-52.

The Cougars had scoring contributions from eight players. Cameron Hensley led with 13, and Derrick Shelley had 10. The Jets had four players in double figures.

Trinity will try to even its season record Friday night at Switzerland County (2-0). The junior varsity will start at 6 p.m.
