Brownstonw, Seymour, Crothersville pick up volleyball wins

TRIBUNE REPORTS

Brownstown Central clinched another Mid Southern Conference volleyball title Thursday night with a  25-8, 25-11, 25-11 win at Salem.


Seymour came up with a nice  road win by defeating Bloomington South 25-15, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, and Crothersville topped Christian Academy 25-14, 25-15, 25-12.

Braves win MSC
SALEM - Brownstown had an easy time topping Salem to close out its Mid Southern Conference schedule at 9-0.


Katelyn Shoemaker had a strong match for the Braves with 12 attack kills and she served 10 aces.
Whitney Tormoehlen had 11 kills for the Braves who are 22-1 and will travel to Indianapolis Chatard  at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Owls top Panthers
BLOOMINGTON - The Owls had 42 attack kills in defeating the Panthers with Erin Murphy leading with 12, and Chelsea Reinhart had nine.


Chelsea Hendrix served three aces and had 34 defensive digs, and Murphy had 20 digs. Emily Krumme had 40 assists.


Seymour, 18-11, will play host to Franklin Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.

Tigers win
CROTHERSVILLE - The Tigers rebounded from their loss against New Washington to top the Warriors and improve to 15-5.


"It was a nice win," coach Jessica Wischmeier said as her team had 28 attack kills with Coleigh King leading with 12.


The Tigers will play in a round robin Saturday at Eastern, and will play Eastern at 9:45 a.m., followed by matches against Henryville, Austin and Lanesville.
