Fatal shooting follows argument

NORTH VERNON — A North Vernon man died of a gunshot wound early Monday afternoon while in the front yard of his home following an argument with a Commiskey man, police said.

Jeremy Moore, 24, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead upon arrival at nearby St. Vincent Jennings Hospital, Jennings County Coroner Eugene Rudicel said.

The shooting took place at 12:22 p.m. at 309 Franklin St., where Moore lived in a one-story brick house three blocks west of North State Street.
