12-year sentence announced on sex charges



A Seymour man has been sentenced to a 12-year prison term for having sexual contact with children.

Stephen Todd Stamper, 47, of Seymour, had pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class C felony, and one count of child solicitation, a Class D felony.

Jackson Circuit Judge Richard Poynter ordered that six of the 12 years be spent behind bars and the other half to be served on supervised probation through the Jackson Jennings Community Corrections Department, according to court documents.
