ISP photo / Two women, including a Seymour resident, died Wednesday in this head-on collision on Indiana 256 near Austin. The cause of the crash remains uncertain.

AUSTIN — A 76-year-old Jackson County woman died in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday near Austin that also left an 81-year-old Scott County woman dead.

According to a report from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg, Eleanor D. Morgan of Seymour was pronounced dead by the Scott County Coroner’s Office at the scene of the wreck on Indiana 256.

Joyce Turner of Austin also was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Jerry Goodin said.
