Two Jackson County men face charges of child molesting after a monthlong investigation led to their arrest Thursday afternoon, police said.
Paul E. Stanton, 55, and Jerry Stanton, 45, both of Seymour, were taken into custody by Indiana State Police without incident and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.
Detective Rachel Hunt reported she received information in mid January from the Jackson County Division of Family Services that a 9-year-old boy was possibly being abused by two family members.
Paul Stanton was charged with two counts of child molesting, one Class A felony and one Class C felony, while Jerry Stanton stands charged with one Class A felony charge of child molesting. Both were being held on $100,005 bonds each.
Also assisting in the case are Detectives Jan Graves and Roger Drew and Trooper Ray Hunt.
