6 county marriages no longer recognized after state’s reversal

Kyla Phillips doesn’t want her marriage to Rhonda Barnthouse to be invisible.

The Seymour resident married her partner of 19 years on June 27, but Gov. Mike Pence announced Wednesday same-sex marriages won’t be recognized by the state.

Phillips’ marriage is one of six from Jackson County.
