The number of people filing declarations of candidacies at the Jackson County Courthouse slowed to a trickle this past week.

One of those filings, however, set up a race for Jackson Township trustee, a position held by Republican William “Bill” Marsh since 1994.

Marsh, a former city policeman and city councilman, said he welcomes the competition Seymour Republican Ellis G. McCormick brings to the race with his filing.
