Dennis Dunn, For The Tribune/ Trinity Lutheran junior Jacob Christopher, left, falls to the floor as he battles for a loose ball as sophomore Jacob Schult (15) looks on during Saturday's home game against South Central.
Going into Saturday’s road game against Trinity Lutheran, the South Central boys basketball team had only one win.
The Rebels, however, played as if they didn’t have a losing record and implemented their 1-3-1 defense to cause havoc for Trinity and win 46-41.
“There is no two ways about it as that 1-3-1 disrupted us,” Cougars coach Aaron Rudzinski said. “We have faced the 1-3-1 once this year, and the one tonight created a stagnant offense for us. We couldn’t do much when they switched to the 1-3-1.”
