Going into Saturday’s road game against Trinity Lutheran, the South Central boys basketball team had only one win.

The Rebels, however, played as if they didn’t have a losing record and implemented their 1-3-1 defense to cause havoc for Trinity and win 46-41.

“There is no two ways about it as that 1-3-1 disrupted us,” Cougars coach Aaron Rudzinski said. “We have faced the 1-3-1 once this year, and the one tonight created a stagnant offense for us. We couldn’t do much when they switched to the 1-3-1.”
