Trinity Lutheran’s volleyball team used a strong hitting attack and aggressive serving to defeat South Decatur 25-8, 25-17, 25-19 on Monday night in the Bollinger Athletic Complex.
Class A No. 15 Trinity (16-9) was 55 of 61 in serving with 12 aces, and Mallory Barker led the way, going 17 of 17 with five aces. Trinity had 37 kills, and Barker led with 10, while Caitlin Tracey had six.
“The girls did a nice job of serving tonight,” Trinity coach Chelsey Hackman said. “We tried to keep it below the top of the antennas and above the top of the net, and overall, they did a pretty good job of that. It was nice to see the girls come out here and actually serve well.”
