Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott was looking for the best of the best Saturday morning during the department’s annual agility testing for potential new hires.

By 8 a.m., 69 men and two women sat in the bleachers at Trinity Lutheran High School, prepared to show off their physical aptitude through a variety of intense skills tests.

With three open positions to fill now, two more coming later in the year and a new reserve program to staff, Abbott said it was encouraging to see so many good applicants.
