We’ve been in the news ourselves of late, with officials from the Indiana State Department of Health disputing a story that appeared on the front page of Tuesday’s edition.

It’s always good to know folks are reading us.

The story, “Official blames salmonella on consumers; Buyers didn’t clean cantaloupes properly,” brought a quick response from ISDH officials.

We had covered a meeting Monday morning at Vincennes Tractor at which Jim Howell, with the state department of health, met with area melon growers who have been awfully upset with the way both the state and federal governments released information about the recent salmonella outbreak.
