Annual Christmas Basket Fund helps those in need

A woman hoping to make Christmas “extra special” for two grandchildren living with her is typical of the people asking for help from the annual Christmas Basket Fund.

The 68th annual fund drive, which began Thanksgiving Day, provides $50 gift cards that may be used to purchase food at Jay C Food Stores.

Donations to the fund, sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in partnership with The Tribune, may be given to PNC Bank on East Tipton Street in Seymour, The Tribune or American Legion Post 89. The fund already has received a $250 donation from Jackson Lodge 146, Free & Accepted Masons.
