Area woman finishes as 2nd runner-up in scholarship contest

Jamah Wilkerson of Freetown was selected as the second runner-up in the Indiana Distinguished Young Women scholarship program conducted Feb. 23 through Feb. 25 at Kokomo.

For more than 50 years, high school girls have participated in the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program, formerly America’s Junior Miss.

Each year, participants compete for scholarships and the opportunity to represent Indiana in the Distinguished Young Women of America program.
