Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is partnering with Café Batar, 12649 E. U.S. 50, Seymour for its August Paint the Town.
The event will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24.
Paint the Town is a social painting event, where participants do not have to have previous experience or talent to join the fun, organizers say. The center’s art instructors will provide all supplies and instructions to guide participants.
“Summer’s Beauty” is an acrylic painting of a sunflower on 16-by-20 canvas. This painting is a lesson on how to use acrylic paints as water colors. The flower pattern will be visible for participants to see and they will wash on the paint.
“We’ve learned that having the pattern on the canvas helps the students to be less nervous about painting,” said instructor Stephanie Mysak.
Class price of $36 includes all supplies and instruction to complete the painting and will include a dessert and drink. Center members will receive a 20 percent discount on the painting price.
Class size is limited to 30 and preregistration and prepayment are required. You can do so by calling Southern Indiana Center for the Arts at 522-2278 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
