Baker plays Tour event in home state

After missing the cut in four Tour events, Brownstown native Chris Baker returned to his home state over the weekend and played all four days.

In the United Leasing Championship at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Baker shot 72 in his first three rounds and then carded 79 on Sunday to finish at 7-over 295. That included 46 pars, 11 birdies and 10 bogeys, and his sole eagle came on the par-5 ninth hole Sunday.

Greg Owen of England won the tournament by one stroke at 9-under 279.

The next Tour event is the Nova Scotia Open, which starts Thursday.
