The way the Seymour-Batesville girls soccer match was going Thursday night, it figured the team that scored last was going to win.
A Batesville player put a high kick over Owls goalie Kelley Sharp with 2:49 left to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win at C.B. Hess Memorial Field.
“I thought it was an unfortunate call going against us in the set piece,” Owls coach Greg Musser said. “But it is what it is, and they had a nice set just underneath the crossbar. There’s not many goalies that are going to get that.”
Going into the match, Musser said he was expecting a close battle.
