Bedel family reunion held at Gaiser Park

The 33rd annual Bedel reunion recently was held in the shelter house Gaiser Park in Seymour.

Don Ray gave the invocation before lunch was served.

After lunch, a business meeting was conducted. Minutes of the 2011 reunion were read and approved. There were two deaths reported since last year’s reunion. Carol Ruth Ray died Nov. 19, 2011, and Delbert Foster died Feb. 15, 2012.

Two births were reported, Isabela Marie Bedel, daughter of Brad Bedel and Hannah Bulthuis, and granddaughter of Garry and Melinda Bedel, was born June 7, 2012, and Kaisen Wade Ray, son of Emmanuel and Crystal Ray, and grandson of Don and Diana Ray, was born June 19, 2012.

Edith Bedel Beckman was the oldest person attending, and Isabela Marie Bedel was the youngest person attending.

Door prizes were awarded to Charlie Owens, Pam Weddle, Ryan Heilman, Megan Johnson, Diana Ray and Joyce Vehslage. A drawing was held for the 50-50, and Joyce Vehslage had the winning ticket.

It was decided the 2013 reunion would be at the same location. Next year everyone is asked to bring canned goods to donate to Anchor House.

Joyce Miller was re-elected president and Joyce Vehslage was re-elected secretary-treasurer.

After the meeting, an auction with Don Ray as auctioneer was held.
