After going undefeated in pool play last week, the Seymour 10-year-old Little League all-star team faced Bedford in Sunday’s district tournament championship game at Wiley Youth Park in Bedford.
Bedford slugged its way to a five-run cushion in the first inning, and Seymour couldn’t recover as Bedford claimed the crown and advanced to the state tournament with a 13-3 win.
Bedford had two doubles and three singles in the first inning to take a 5-0 lead. Seymour pitcher Tyler Goecker was replaced in the inning after taking a line drive off of his leg. He was able to stay in the game and play third base.
