Bicyclist killed in collision

A Jennings County man riding a bicycle on U.S. 31 in northern Jackson County was struck by a car and killed Tuesday afternoon, police report.

Mark Crosby, 48, of North Vernon, died after a collision with a 2006 Dodge Stratus driven by 53-year-old Gary Hollin, according to a report from Indiana State Trooper Stephen Wheeles.

Wheeles said Crosby was thrown from his bicycle after the collision, reported at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday about 2.5 miles north of Seymour.

Hollin was not injured but was taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour for blood testing as required by law for all drivers involved in fatal traffic crashes, Wheeles said
