Jonathan Rollins had a solid night offensively and defensively in Monday’s junior varsity football game at home, helping Trinity Lutheran shut out South Decatur 20-0.
Rollins scored all three of the Cougars’ touchdowns, leading the way with 104 yards receiving. Defensively, he had seven solo tackles and two assists along with a fumble recovery.
Trinity’s first score was at the 8:23 mark of the first quarter when Jacob Stout threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Rollins, and Jacob Harless added a two-point conversion.
The other 12 points came in the second quarter. At 9:56, Stout found Rollins for a 12-yard score, and at 1:29, Rollins caught a pass from Stout and ran 78 yards for a 20-0 lead.
Stout finished 6 of 17 with 153 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Jacob Harless was the leading rusher with 68 yards on 12 carries, and Dustin Nichols had one reception for 46 yards.
On defense, Jacob Schult led with 10 solo tackles and four assists, and Jared Stuckwisch sacked the South Decatur quarterback.
The Cougars are now 2-0, and their next game is on Sept. 17 at Brownstown Central.
