Biting cold, snow force school closures ... again

Bitterly cold temperatures and snow-covered roads led to yet another day off for students and teachers in Jackson County on Tuesday — and today.

After a two-hour delay Monday, school officials in Seymour, Brownstown, Medora and Crothersville canceled classes Tuesday and today, bringing the number of days missed because of winter weather to nine.

For most area schools, Monday was being used to make up one of the many snow days that have piled up this school year.
