Board OKs full-day kindergarten

Seymour Community Schools will offer full-day kindergarten again in the fall after much success and growth in the program this year, school officials said Tuesday.

The district also is expected to serve as the location for a Kindergarten Jump Start program offered by Child Care Network to get more students prepared to enter their first year of school.

The school board took little time to discuss the matter, giving unanimous support to Superintendent Rob Hooker’s recommendation for a third consecutive year of full-day kindergarten.
