Board considering honor for former football coach

Former Seymour High School football coach Joe Goodman spent more than 30 years on the field and in the classroom as a teacher.

His retirement in 2003 ended a career that saw him record the most wins of any football coach in the school’s history, earning a record 189 wins and 127 losses in 29 years. His combined record was 202 wins and 132 losses in 33 years.

Now, many past players and supporters of Seymour football want to see his legacy honored by naming the field after him.
