A former Scott County school official has been chosen as Seymour's interim superintendent.
Robert D. Hooker, who retired in 2010 as superintendent of Scott County Schools District 2, will take over the reins of Seymour Community Schools, the largest school corporation in Jackson County, beginning Oct. 1.
His contract will run through June 30, by which time a permanent replacement will be announced, according to board president Art Juergens.
Hooker will be paid $450 per day for his services, according to his contract.
