Board set to award $2 million job

Major construction will begin at Margaret R. Brown Elementary School this month, just a few weeks before the new school year begins.

The $2 million project will add four large kindergarten rooms to the school but planned renovations of existing areas will be put on hold because they are not within the project budget, officials said.

School board members are set to award the project at tonight’s regular monthly meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the administration building.
