Boys & Girls Club of Seymour will be open from noon to 6 p.m. today for any members looking for something to do while school is canceled because of the weather.
Opening when school is closed is a change in policy for the center, Director Steve Stanfield said.
"We decided this winter is different," he said. "We've never had this many successive school closings at a time and we've been getting asked by parents whether we were going to open."
Children will be able to participate in a number of activities at the center, 950 N. O'Brien St. Members will be allowed to bring a friend or sibling who is not a member, Standfield said.
"I think the kids need to get out of the house and I've heard that from numerous parents," he said.
