The Brownstown Central football team opened sectional play with a 27-24 win against Heritage Hills on Friday at home, and the coaches have announced their selections for players of the game.

Receiving awards were Clay Brown, offensive back most valuable player; Drew Shoemaker, offensive line MVP; Keaton Gay, defensive line/inside linebacker MVP; Jacob Jackson and Dylan Patman, defensive back/dime MVPs; Nick Stahl, special teams MVP; and Tanner Bell, scout team MVP. The black jersey winners were Jay Wehmiller and Noah Cotten.
