Ryan Franklin placed second and Kari Brown was 12th to help the Brownstown Central cross-country teams place third in Thursday’s Eastern Invitational.
Franklin finished in 16:52, 25 seconds behind winner Julien Magallanes of Borden. Ryan Swartwood was next for the Brownstown boys, placing ninth in 17:46.
Borden won the boys meet, which consisted of 13 full teams, with 38 points, Eastern was second with 86 and Brownstown was third with 103.
Brown’s time was 22:45, and the team scored 96 points, finishing behind winner Silver Creek and runner-up Salem. There were nine full teams in the girls meet.
The Trinity Lutheran boys placed 11th with 270 points, and Luke Onken and Nikolai Haak placed 36th and 37th, respectively.
For Medora, the top boys finisher was Matt Jones (96th), and the only girls runner, Jadelyn Dean, placed 35th.
